Ayush Prakash
DirectorAyush Prakash is Director of the Center for Innovating the Future, a Toronto-based strategy innovation lab. He leads the organization as a whole, setting its direction and running its operations across research, publishing, products, partnerships, and new initiatives. His focus is on turning serious questions about technological change into work people can use, challenge, and build upon.
The Center’s current work examines what it means for people and organizations to live and work alongside AI. Ayush brings a venture builder’s question to that work: which ideas deserve to become products or institutions, who will they serve, and what will it take to make them useful?
He is the author of AI for Gen Z, first published in 2021 and revised in 2024, about how digital technology shapes cognition, identity, and work for a generation raised inside it. His published writing includes “The Infinity of the Brain and the Void of the Machine” in The Montréal Review and “The Risks of AI and Social Media for the Developing Brain” in Psychology Today.
He also hosts The Ayush Prakash Podcast, with more than 150 conversations across science, technology, health, philosophy, and public policy. Ayush holds a BA in Philosophy from Toronto Metropolitan University and is based in Montreal.

Founder and Director · 2010 to 2025Established the Center in Toronto in December 2010 and led its work on how organizations and the people inside them adapt to automation. He presented at RoboBusiness and at International Robotics Week in Delft, was interviewed by Robotics Business Review on coexistence with robots, and in 2025 created and hosted Coexisting with AI: Succeeding In the New Era at Microsoft Reactor Toronto.
Abishur Prakash
Director · 2012 to 2022Led the Center's work on the geopolitics of technology. He appeared as a witness before the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology in February 2017, and his writing from that period appeared in Scientific American, CNBC, Fortune, Nikkei Asia and the South China Morning Post. His work was cited by the Brookings Institution and the Foreign Policy Research Institute.
